ALMS announced 3 new independent customer teams representing 3 different auto brands that will race in its GT2 class next season.
Bill Riley and Lou Gigliotti will race 2 Corvette C6's. The production-based GT2 Corvette will be powered by a modified standard C6 engine vs the GT1 Z06-sourced powerplant.
Primetime Race Group will run a factory-supported customer Dodge Viper. Doran Racing will bring a Ford GT to the GT2 grid.
Homologation to ACO specs will be done in time for the cars to race at Sebring 2008.
"I can't wait to see the Ford GT, Viper, and C6 Corvette mix it up with Ferrari, Porsche, and Panoz. It's going to be great!", effused Scott Atherton, ALMS CEO.
